Arts & Crafts Show -- May 24, 2026 -- Charlotte Harbor Event Center, Punta Gorda, FL
Table at Craft Fair for C.A.R.E. Teresa offered her origami items as a fundraiser for
The Center for Abuse and Rape Emergencies (C.A.R.E.)* on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at the Charlotte Harbor Event Center* in Punta Gorda, Florida. This was part of a two-day event being put on by the Local Ladies Social Network, Inc.*

Although the show was open on both Saturday, May 23, and Sunday, May 24, Teresa was only able to be there on Sunday. However, she took TWO vendor tables instead of her usual one table, so there were hundreds of her origami items available.

As always at Teresa's fundraisers, there were no prices -- just "take what you like and give what you can."

Teresa received an incredible amount of help for this event from Anna, Volunteer Coordinator at C.A.R.E., who assisted with setting up and breaking down the origami display, as well as staffing the tables and answering everyone's questions about C.A.R.E. Thank you so much, Anna!

Many thanks also go to Marie Hicks, Chair of the C.A.R.E. Board, for creating many beautiful strings of origami cranes which were offered to the public at this craft fair. They were greatly admired by all who saw them.
In Charlotte County, The Center for Abuse and Rape Emergencies (C.A.R.E.) provides hope, help, and healing to victims of rape and sexual violence, including dating violence, domestic violence, stalking, and elder abuse.

C.A.R.E. offers a certified rape crisis center and certified domestic violence shelter providing free emergency shelter in a safe, non-violent setting. The wide range of services provided by C.A.R.E. includes: a 24/7 hotline; 24-hour rape crisis hospital response; one-to-one supportive assistance to the victims of violent crimes in hospitals and/or court settings; and free individual and group counseling as well as support groups. This was part of a two-day Arts & Crafts Show being put on by the Local Ladies Social Network, Inc.* Although the show was open on both Saturday, November 22, and Sunday, November 23, Teresa could only be there on Sunday. To make up for this, she took two vendor tables instead of her usual one table, so there were hundreds of her origami items available. As usual at Teresa's fundraisers, there were no prices -- just "take what you like and give what you can."

Arts & Crafts Show -- May 25, 2025 -- Charlotte Harbor Event Center, Punta Gorda, FL
Teresa's origami was on display at an indoor Arts & Crafts Show at the Charlotte Harbor Convention Center in Punta Gorda, FL, on Sunday, May 25, 2025. This show was put on by the Local Ladies Social Network, Inc.*

As usual, Teresa offered her origami items as a fundraiser. All donations received were contributed to the Peace River Wildlife Center, in order to help with that organization's recovery from hurricanes Helene and Milton.

PRWC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit wildlife rehabilitation and education center. They receive no government funding, so donations are essential to support their mission. As someone who has frequently visited the PRWC facility on many occasions over the years, first with her children and more recently with her grandchild, Teresa has always been impressed by the important work being done by this organization. Please consider helping them with a donation soon.

2025 Spring Arts & Crafts Show -- March 30 -- Bradenton Area Convention Center, Palmetto, FL
Teresa offered her origami as a fundraiser for ChildFund International at a Spring Arts & Crafts Show on Sunday, March 30, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Bradenton Area Convention Center*, 1 Haben Blvd., Palmetto, FL.

Teresa has been sponsoring children through ChildFund for over fifty years. Currently she is sponsoring a young girl in India and young boy in Brasil. However, donations made at this event were not used to cover Teresa's monthly sponsorships. All donations received were sent to ChildFund separately in support of that organization's special projects and most urgent needs.

Sponsoring a child is easy to do and it's a very rewarding experience. If you are not already involved in this type of activity, please consider getting started. The wonderful letters you will receive from your sponsored child, along with photos and school reports, will let you see your child's progress very clearly. Other than direct volunteer work, there are few other forms of charitable giving which allow you to have such a close, personal connection to the people you are helping. You really can change the world -- one child at a time.
