Comments: | In this set of three boxes, the one on the far left and the one on the far right are good examples of the Four Hearts style, while the one in the middle is a variation of my own on the Four Hearts style. My variation places small diamond shapes at the four corners of the box instead of small heart shapes. My variation also exposes more of the patterned side of the paper. These boxes are sturdy when made from thicker/stiffer paper, as here. Double-sided paper works best, since so much of the reverse side of the paper is exposed. Another neat feature of this box style is that the boxes can be flattened for convenient storage and then easily popped open again when needed. A flattened box, secured with a rubber band, is shown in the image at left, along with a side view of one of the opened boxes. |
