Comments: | Here are two sets of nested boxes, with two boxes in each set. These boxes are " hybrids" because they combine two different types of origami: modular and non-modular. The lids are modular; each was made by joining together four identical units. The bases are non-modular -- each is a traditional masu, made from a single sheet of paper. (An additional sheet of paper was used to make either a liner or divider for each box shown here.) I haven't yet created a special category on this web site for hybrid boxes, so I am putting them with the modular nested squares for now. The paper used here came from a jumbo pack featuring many beautiful patterns, each in several different sizes. This was ideal for making nested boxes. |
