Comments: | The scrapbook paper used here was bought as a pad of 12 inch square sheets, then cut down to different sizes as needed to create a set of three nesting boxes. The large box was made with 19 cm (7 1/2 in) square sheets, the medium box was made with 15.25 cm (6 in) square sheets, and the small box was made with 11.4 cm (4 1/2 in) square sheets. Scrapbook paper is a bit harder to work with than regular origami paper because it is thicker and stiffer, but it produces sturdier boxes which can hold heftier gifts. Note the two honey bees on the smallest box. The bee motif only appears in a few areas of the honeycomb paper, so it took some finagling to get them where I wanted them on the finished box. |
